Celtica Highland Dancers

This message is specially for Maritimers. Celtica Highland Dancers are going to Scotland in July this year and are frantically fundraising to get there. We have a few very neat fundraisers going on right now, one of which is Heart of the Highlands has donated a pair of Hullachan Pro Dance Slippers. Any size to be won. Slippers retail at up to $100 & tax. Tickets are $2 for 1 or $5 for 3, we will be selling them at local Comps, either on Heart of the Highlands Table, or on a table of their own. We are also having a Brunch/Show on Sunday May 1st at The Jolly Mug in Bayers Lake. Tickets for the Brunch/Show are available through
celtica@heartofthehighlands.ca
PLEASE HELP us with our fundraisers - we have 23 Dancers going and a lot of money still to raise.

Thanks and Happy Dancing :)

I really love the outfit of the girl on the left. Is the tartan Dress Blue MacRae? See this link:

www.tartantown.com . . .

It looks smart with the black vest! :)

I really like the girl's kilt in the other blue tartan on the right...she is wearing the black jacket and her back is turned...

What tartan is that???

Okay, Ashley isn't in this shot, but her 2nd youngest sister Lynsey is, she's on the far left and IS wearing Dress Blue McRae. The black vest has now been replaced with an almost navy blue Jacket, and it loks SO good.
From left we have Lynsey - Dress Blue McRae, Erica- Ancient Smith (I wonder what her last name is:-)), Alyssa gosh, I can't remember, Dress something Sutherland? - her black jacket is now to small (and is for sale), and then Haleigh, who is wearing her Nova Scotia Aboyne - (all Celtica Dancers have a Nova Scotia Aboyne with Royal Blue Vest).
This shot was taken last summer at the waterfront in Halifax, they (Celtica) busked all summer long (to help pay for thier Trip to Scotland).
Hey Heather from Pitlochry/Logerait - see you in July (you are coming to The Celeidh, right?)
Ramsay Blue - who are tou, I wonder

Ohhhh! I want those Hullachan Pros so I'll be buying some tickets. If you give some to Ruth I can buy them in class. If not I'll make a point to come see you at East Hants.

I'd love to support your brunch/show. I'm getting back from one of my trips that day so we'll see how that works out. How much are tickets?

That picture must have been taken in July. Wasn't that month just terrible? You've made me hungry for a BeaverTail though. Too bad the stand is not open now.

What are the measurements for Alyssa's jacket? I can't tell from squinting at the pic if she's skinnier than me, lol.

And Booverly my dear, how can you not have Beaver Tails in winter?! That's the best time to eat them! Over here, we eat them during Winterlude; there's nothing quite like being on skates in -20 degree weather outdoors in the evening when it's dark and trying to eat an apple cinamon Beaver Tail while you have woolen mittens on!

I know! The first BT I had was on the canal while skating. Yum, yum. I rolled mine up like a jelly roll and licked the filling off the paper when it squeezed out.

The BT stand here is only open during the summer as the Halifax waterfront is not exactly the most inviting place during the winter most days. Kinda an oxymoron not being able to get a nice hot treat during the winter. The line to get them in the summer is quite long. You'll should feel right at home this summer eating a BT while sitting beside Theodore Tug Boat.

I knew when I posted that pic that I would get some comments! Yeah, Beaver Tails - :) Try taking a dozen dancers to Halifax waterfront while youre TRYING to make money for them LOL . Booverly, Ceolas, Ramsay Blue, Ruth :) and all Maritimers, ... tickets are $10 for Brunch AND show - but, for my 'poor' Student friends - you could share a Brunch, right ??? Come for The Show, buy some 50/50 tickets, ya know?
Brunch tickets have to be bought ahead of time - so, give me a call first..... Or PM me...

What are cows?

When I volunteered at Winterlude last February, the line for Beaver Tails was about 30-40 minutes long - OUTSIDE! IN -30! And of course I stood in it ...

Cows are usually a white and black spotted, 4 legged animal, which produce milk :]

Cows icecream- I think it's generally only a PEI thing, but we have one here in Halifax. They also have a gift shop with utterly awesome t-shirts with neat sayings on them using plenty of punny cow jokes.

Did you know that if you shove a cow off a cliff, it'll produce a milk shake? Bet ya didn't.

Thanks for the times. (Sandra is that you?)

I'm getting back from one of my trips on that day so I'll ask if they can fly me home as early as possible so that J. and I can go.

Since we're into cow jokes:
What do you call a cow wearing a crown?
A dairy queen.
