Does anyone have any experience with Fimo clay? I'm trying to get started but I'm having a hard time just getting the clay to soften. It's not dried out. Maybe I'm just weak. How long should it take to get it into workable condition?

I've used it but it was a very long time ago. I don't remember it taking that long to get it workable but like I say, it's been a long time since I have used it. Sorry I couldn't have been much more help.

I hope someone else can help you.

I've used it quite a bit (made a dalek badge, even!) and it can be very hard, even new out of the packaging. Maybe cut off smaller bits and work on those, then join blobs together if you need more. And by smaller, I mean pea-sized. I've only really done small things, like brooches, badges, little animals the size of half my thumb or so.

It's great stuff to work with, though. Have fun.
