I'm tired, twisted, barely breathing, buried in the dark
Don't be concerned, it's just the power of a breaking heart.
How good am I hiding it?
Look, I've got some bad intentions.
Guilty as fucking charged.
Still standing stable, more than able 'cause I know who you are.
I know the birthdays, anniversaries, all the first days I missed.
I regret them all.
But now I know this:

I know that God exists.
I held her in my arms.
I never knew I was able to ever feel this strong.

Take me off your worry list.
It'll be better that way.
I'm really fine and there's nothing we haven't talked about.
So, take me off your worry list I said, "Throw it away."
This is what my life is about.
I might have been gone but I never walked out.

I've taken a thousand red eyes to change your point of view.
What kind of man would take the trust you break and still follow through?
'Cause I'm standin' right here.
And you may not show up.
This same gate 14 where, honestly, I'm just sick of calling your bluff.
And it's just embarrassing, that I nearly threw up
And I'm trying hard to change the things I always screw up.
And at the top of my list, this visitation's no relationship.
But I gotta make the best of it.
'Cause I know -

I know that God exists.
I held her in my arms.
I never knew I was able to ever feel this strong.

Take me off your worry list.
It'll be better that way.
And I'm doin' fine and I've got plenty of friends around.
Take me off your worry list.
Just throw it away.
Well, it's time to stand up on my own for her.
'Cause I'm packing it up, and I'm comin' today.

I couldn't wait to finally pick my family up.
Everything is quiet and covered in snow.
There's something wrong here...
Nobody's at home.
Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
Now, I'm back in the driver's seat.
Heading back home.
Yeah, back to Texas on my own.

Take me off your worry list.
It'll be better that way.
And I'm doin' fine and I've got plenty of friends around.
Take me off your worry list.
Just throw it away.
Yeah, it's time to stand up on my own for her.
I'm packing it up, and I'm comin' today.
This is what my story's about.
I might have been gone but I never walked out.
I'm packin' it up, and I'm comin' today.

This is what your story's about.
My pretty little girl, can you figure it out?
If it helps to know so there is no doubt,
Just listen to the stories.
Not everything is glorious.
Some hurt, some love, some shout.
I fought the world and I lost that bout.
And you are what my album's about.
I might have been gone, but I never walked out.

As a very wise person once said to me:

"Don't try to fix me. I'm not broken".

So I'm not exactly ready to give out tons of details about what's happening in my life at the moment, mostly because things are really Topsy turvy, but I was having a conversation with a friend and it included the phrase "go me! I was functional today!". Made me laugh because a year ago I would have considered myself crazy for considering just doing everything I'm supposed to be doing as a cause to celebrate.

Just a weird moment, I suppose. Wish I could share more and eventually I hope that I can share the whole story, but for the time being I'll just have to share what I can, and be thankful for my DDN family supporting me. <3 you all.

When I learned to lower my standards for what's an accomplishment for the day, my happiness went up exponentially. I only have to take care of myself and some days getting out of bed, taking a shower, and putting on clothes is an accomplishment. I can't imagine doing that with 3 young kids. You're a rock star. Seriously.

Hags and kisses (in honor of Halloween).

Dani, I was able to relate SO well to that. I let my mom-in-law read it and she said it really helped her understand. Thanks for your extra-loud cheering yesterday! It meant the world to me to hear that.

So Yesterday I went to Houston for a feis, and did okay- better than last feis- but didn't manage to place. They placed 5 and I came in 6th. Considering the chaos that is my life, I'll take it :)

You did SO great! As the announcer I could see full results and I was bummed you were so close, but it is definitely progress. :) Keep hacking away, mamas! You're getting there.

Had I been in Houston, I totally would've been cheering like a crazy person. And I'm super loud (both Sumayah & Dani can attest to this :D). If you ever come to Atlanta to dance, I'll be there with bells on.

I, too, related to the spoon analogy. Even though I'm not sick, per se, I definitely find myself having to make similar choices. It sucks to feel like your life is dictated by a wonky brain / brain chemistry.

!!!!! You are kidding me! Was she the kissing judge?!

I had seriously wanted to place just to get a hug from her.

What a small world it is :)

Yep that would be the one... She was super excited to go to that feis!

She even posted on Facebook afterwards.

Just wanted to chime in though and say how awesome you really are. Seriously I admire you. I kinda see you as super mom.

Hope things start looking up for you. I so want nothing more than to see you happy.

Life has been incredibly, exquisitely busy. I love it.

List time:

1. Changes are happening on the dance front, least of which is that I have finally been able to get some practice time in so I dont look like a doofus at the Oireachtas in 3 weeks.

2. We have been SO sick over here. I've been spared (to an extent) but it seems like the majority of the family has been taking turns.

3. We saw Josh Groban in concert Wednesday! It's a big deal because we haven't been to a proper concert in a loooooong time. I am a total sap and LOVE Josh, and had a total leaky eye moment as he sung Vincent by Don McLean. Hubby was a good sport and let me drag him along. It helped that we double dated with another couple (look! I was even being social!) And the other husband had been a bit coerced too.

4. Hubby and I are headed to Dublin(!!!!) on a very, very delayed honeymoon in January. We are incredibly excited! On our list of stuff to see is Trinity College and the Book of Kells, and we MUST see a castle. We'll probably rent a car for a day so we can experience right hand driving, and go a bit further out. Or possibly drive to see the sea.

And, just because it's been something that's breen bouncing around in my head:

"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer. " - Albert Camus

^I saw Josh Groban many, many years ago in concert. He's hysterical. If he ever gives up singing, he should do stand up comedy.

That's what marriage is all about. :) Hubby is going with me to see The Hunger Games, he's not into it, but is being a good sport and going with. His only stipulation is that we not go to the midnight release. Fine by me! We do something called work for a living and we have to be up the next morning. :P He took me to both Harry Potter movies and I went with him to the RV show, but it all turned out well, we found the RV we want and he actually enjoyed HP. ;) Funny how things work out huh?

I'm so jealous you're going to Dublin. Have a Guinness for me ok? ;)
