Congratulations to them both!

And wow, that was quite the proposal.

Had a nice, family dinner planned for two birthdays and one of the birthday-ers has invited four extra people without even asking me. It was supposed to be just family. And now the other birthday-er doesn't want to come. Can't really blame him for not wanting to spend his birthday with a bunch of people he doesn't know. Tempted to just cancel the whole thing. :(

Is this being "wonky" again? The last post is September 25th, but the "hot" page says October 8...today....

Oh kk.... your diary does not want to be read! xoxo

Not only is the website being wonky, but again our leader has fled - has not posted a message since June. Please Linh, this website cannot long survive anarchy.

Oh, yay. It seems to be resolved. Very odd, this is twice it did this little tricky thing. Hoping it doesn't do that again.

Ok, back to more pleasant things....

My daughter and I have a standing shopping date every Friday. We have now added wedding planning to our Fridays. She is looking at a summer '18 wedding, so we have plenty of time to plan. (And pay!) First step - venues!

7:30 and I'm in my jammies, curled up on the couch with my blankie. It's been a long week.

If you're going to lie, you could at least do a better job of it. Pathetic.

I've been mad, disgusted, frustrated, appalled, horrified, flabbergasted, and now after three days, I am just so, so sad for my country. :(

Don't be sad, you're in a better position than they would be at this stage in the UK, Ireland and Canada, they all have to wait five years before they can get rid of a party or leader that aren't doing their job.

Today was very cathartic for me. I had conversations with three lovely ladies who are of the same mindset as me, incredulous at this Twilight Zone we find ourselves in. It's been refreshing and comforting.

So. Remember my friend that moved away? Her husband had a heart attack and almost died. He spent six weeks in the hospital with many complications and is now on a heart transplant list. :( I went to visit them and we patched things up. She acknowledged the things she was upset about are rather unimportant compared to what they are facing now. They have a long road ahead. She has really stepped up for him, she is the one who has been in poor health and he usually takes care of her.

We booked a venue for the wedding. Made a very steep down payment, too. Yikes, weddings are 'spensive!! But, it's going to be very lovely, without being over the top. Plus, we get a wedding coordinator and a staff, which means we don't have to do the bulk of the grunt work.

Also in the works, engagement party! We are holding this event at my mom's on a Sunday afternoon in January. It'll be a tailgate theme. Football games on the lawn, concession stand food, and hopefully the home team playing a play off game. We designed the invitations to look like tickets. Super cute!!
