What are your summer programs like?

Hey everyone!

I come from a relatively small twirling community on the East Coast of Canada and during the summer our twirling program slows down.

We end our formal rec and competitive classes in june and practices only take place in the event of a parade or if we have elected to go to AYOP or another major competition that summer (of course, many twirlers elect to practice on their own with their private coaches throughout the summer). However, I know that for many of you the summer (and especially the lead up to AYOP for you NBTA'ers) is quite intense.

We are hoping to start changing our program to be more accommodating to summer competition, so I am essentially looking for your feedback:

what does your team do for summer? Do they have classes and or camps (and how are they structured)? How do you get ready for AYOP?

Any and all information (or corrections on my assumptions) would be appreciated!!

It totally depends on the twirlers' goals and the expectations you have of them.
