New to Irish Dance / Looking for Ghillies

We are new to Irish dance. My 7 year old daughter has been taking lessons for about 3 weeks now and loves it. We are looking for a pair of good condition, reasonable priced Ghillies for her. She wears a size 13.5 (US) street shoe.

Does anyone have any advice on a reasonably priced started shoe and what size she should get?

Thanks!

I would check with the teacher. Some of them have preferences or even requirements as to which ghillies their dancers wear. Are there any feiseanna coming up in your area? Not only might it be fun for your daughter to watch some of the dancing, but in most cases you'll find shoe vendors there who will try shoes on your child to find the best fit for her. You might also ask your child's teacher in case there are gently used shoes for sale within your school. This can be an inexpensive way for a beginner to start out, especially for a child whose feet are still growing. Good luck to your dancer!
