Thumb tosses

My daughter has been doing her three turns and a bad habit reared its head again. Anyway, her former coach taught her to do thumb tosses by raising her thumb to slightly above her head and turn with your head pointed up to the sky. The coach would even get dizzy or toss it even which direction when doing her two turn. Now, her coach is trying to show her that the toss can be done from her waist and preps are not always needed. She usually remembers to do it correctly, but 1 out of 5 three turns her thumb raises toward her shoulder. Any tips to help her remember.

Try tieing a scarf around her waist and then part of it around her wrist, or tie a scarf through a belt loop. This will allow her enough movement of her wrist to get the baton moving but will not allow her to push too much beyond her waistline. This works especially well with out the pull up. Good luck!

Thanks that is a good idea. It will have to be around the waist. The more twirling she does, the smaller her waist gets.
