Solution for heel slipping in pointe shoes

Hi! I have had problems with heel slipping when going on demi-pointe with some shoes, esp. with hard shanks, and the best remedy for me are Gaynor Minden heel grippers (special material with textured gripping surface). If the shoe gets too tight with heel grippers, you can cut the heel grippers in half and stick the 2 halves on the left & right sides of the shoes heel. If the heel grippers are still not enough to prevent slipping, just rub some rosin powder on the heel grippers before putting on the shoes; this really helped me to keep shoes on when going on demi-pointe.

another way to keep them from slipping is to put water on the heel of your tights

Those work but if you don't want to spend the money you can put rosin on the heel of your pointe shoe. You can also put hairspray on your tights and then put your shoes on.
