Dance belt look

I started dancing and doing ballet this last year and I've been wearing a dance belt for months, but I've been wearing loose shorts over my tights to keep it from being awkward and I want to stop. My concern is that my dance belt doesn't seem to mask everything very well and you can see a very clear, distinct outline down below. Is this supposed to happen? Is there a trick to disguising things or is it just a fact of life?

I should also note that I've done research and have all the placement of things correct and the belt fits me great but I don't want to look indecent. Also money is fairly tight so I don't want to buy 20 new pairs that don't fit me the same, but it's more important to me to look PG on stage.

Thanks for the help!

I don't really know, it kinda seems like its just fabric, there's not a lot of padding in it. I guess that probably answers my question then.

It sounds like you are wearing a dance belt that doesn't mask the details, such as an MStevens or Capezio #26.

Many dance belts hide those details by adding a layer of guilting or padding. You end up with a "Ken Doll" generic bulge, but no visible male anatomy lesson. IMHO the best is the Body Wrappers #007, but they are brand new and hard to find. WearMoi shares many of the features, but is available in most Dancewear emporiums.

The tag doesn't say much, it is a Capezio so I'd bet it's the N26. I looked online at a more padded one and if I stuck with Capezio for sizing and went with the 5936 would it have better results? That or the N5930?

Keep in mind it may not get rid of all the problems but it should help with the basics ones.
