i would like speak with other adult dancers.
i did for more years a classic dance.
i didn't study when i were younger.
Now i switched to modern dance.
I love the dance but i found very hard this switch.
On top for the speed on the exercises and on other side for the memorize all steps of the coreography.
I woul like your opinion and your experience for this changement

I've had the opportunity to take only a few modern dance classes; however I've had various styles of jazz classes, some of which borrow from modern movements. In jazz as well as modern I find memorizing choreography a challenge because I have more verbal memory and little visual memory. In ballet each step has a term; so I can memorize the words. In jazz and modern, although there are a few terms, the moves tend to be truly unique. The only way I can memorize choreography is to make up my own term for each move or group of moves, sometimes based on the way it looks but often on the way it feels. That's a good exercise because it's a mental challenge as well as a physical challenge.
