I'm insure wether I should audition for the school of American ballet summer intensive. I don't know if it's worth the time and money to audition if I'm sure I won't be accepted. What are major factors they are looking for when accepting students? Please help 😊

Yes, you should audition.

They accept very few from each audition, so the odds are not in your favor no matter what. Don't let that stop you. You could be one of the few they take from each site. I believe they are looking for excellent facility, good feet, musicality and something close to the typical Balanchine body type (shorter torso, longer legs, etc). Obviously, they look more for potential at a younger age and for all of that plus more for older dancers.

That said, the class itself is worth it if you are truly interested in ballet. Consider it a chance to take a masterclass from the experts in the Balanchine style. View it as a chance to learn. Go for the experience. Oh, and if you pre-register, you get a pointe shoe bag. :)
