I just want to give everyone a bit of encouragement. I am 52. I started dancing about six years ago. I am a little more than halfway through my intermediate year and I am pretty pleased with myself that I got this far. I may quit competing once I become premier because I just don't feel that I would be able to keep up! But still, not too bad for an old lady eh?

I am almost 45 and moved up to intermediate in July. I probably won't be competing too much this year unless I run into an older adult group. I know parts of Canada have a very active adult population. I find mature adults dance a lot like I do. No way I can not stand out in a group of 18 year old premiers! It makes me self conscious when everyone else is jumping so high!
It is surprising how many of us there are. I know a 40 and 50 year old in Scotland, a lady my age in Ireland, and a bunch of people in Canada. I know them from ddn and my Facebook group which I can't advertise here.
Keep going as long as you can so other older adults know it can be done!
