Hi, I'm planning on starting highland lessons this fall, trying to figure out where a good place to teach would be. Do home studios come off to parents as unprofessional, and is it better to rent from a local dance studio or a community center type place? Also, any tips on how to get the word out in a community that doesn't really know what highland dance is? Thanks!!

Home is okay, but don't forget to get insurance. It might be cheaper with a proper studio. I'd also try to connect with local pipe bands and see where they get interest from, and you might be able to perform with them. Also music shops tend to let people leave flyers etc.
