*This is for highland dancing* how do I get a good leap with enough height, but also straight knees and pointed toes Can anybody recommend exercises for building up the strength needed? Also tips on how to execute them with proper technique would be great! Thanks :)

What has especially helped me with getting more height is honestly visual exercises. I always imagine a string attached to my head that is pulling me up, and that immediately helps my leaps. I just think "up!" and then something clicked in me and I got more height to my leaps. Sometimes your mindset can play a big role in what you are able to do. As far as strength building exercises for your legs and feet, my teachers have told me to stand on one leg, and repeatedly lift my heel up off the ground, 30 times on each leg. This will especially give you better strength in your ankles and calves. Good luck!
