a Question from the 80's

I took a Ballet class in the 1980's and at that time the Slippers were made of black leather.......am I nuts but did Slippers in 1987 have a shorter vamp then the ones today ..I feel like wearing black socks

I cannot speak to that per se, but pointe shoes have changed from now until then. So many different brands and choices...things do change over time. I would recommend that you try different brands until you find a new favorite.

A lot of the tailored arch and sole shoes have higher vamps than the old flats. What shoe do you normally wear?

Well thank you Smileywoman and who knows the ones back them may have fit the same way as this pr I just think they are Dif.I know one thing I am a guy I would never do pointe or have a reason for pointe shoes I will leave that hard work to the Ballerinas

The pr i have now are black canvas Capezio Romeo Split-Sole I want to say what I had for that class back then was the a leather full sole technique by capezio and they had 2 order it they did not stock black i was fitted in the with a pink pr i was so embarrassed

The only thing that I can remember that was different back then was that the split-sole shoes were not common or as popular as they are today.

its funny the thing we rem...I only took the class for a short time maybe 1 day a week for 3 weeks .It was a preseason thing the end of summer before school started
