Wondering if anyone knows of pre-championships taking place in Canada/US? I know Ontario has one or two in winter, but other then that I can't seem to find any. I have never seen any in the west or eastern part of Canada.

New Hampshire Highland Games has one in Sept. New Hampshire, USA.

In British Columbia the Western Canadian Championships in Kamloops and Fraser Valley Open in Langley generally have pre-championships in the spring.

... and of course Canadians always has prechamps on the last day - so there will be one in PEI in the beginning of July 2017! :)

Fergus Highland Games generally has one (Ontario, August).

There is normally a pre-championship competition at the Chicago Spring Fling in February

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in North Carolina has a full weekend of highland dance in July each year. Pre-championship takes place on the Friday followed by the Atlantic Championship and Pre-premier highland competition on Saturday, and then Pre-premier Nationals and Premierships on the Sunday (a new event). This is great competition with plenty dancing in a beautiful setting!

A lot of Highland games in Ontario have premier B groups, so it's not a pre championship but of course it is typically easier than dancing a championship or premier A
