Morton's Neuroma?

Hi all!

I think I went over on a half-point in sword a few months ago and since then the ball of one of my feet has been very sore until it gets warmed up enough and then after class. Lately I've discovered that the pain is actually located to the side and near the joint of my second toe and not at all in the ball of my foot like I thought. If I roll my foot and massage the toe before dancing, the pain is tolerable and goes away the longer I'm dancing and the warmer my foot is. Based on some research, I believe I have a Morton's Neuroma. Apparently a Morton's toe is when the second toe is longer than the first and with my bunions my second toe is definitely longer.

Unfortunately September is proving to be an incredibly busy month for dancing, but I've set aside time in October to go to the doctor if this still persists. I was wondering if any of you have ever had this or something similar? What did you do to treat it? Does PT help or just ice, rest and anti-inflammatories? Thank you dancing friends!!

You need to get that checked out! If it's still painful a few months later that's not good.

I know! It hasn't been that bad, just like a little twingey sore (which is normal on that toe because half-points and a bruised toe nail so I thought it was just that). Unfortunately it's just finding the time plus health insurance and figuring out who I can go to for the best care.

I promise I will get it looked at soon!!

I do have an appointment with a specialist.

Has anyone had this before though? I'm curious if it's something that I'll be able to continue dancing and training with.
