My teacher said I need to be more confident in my heavy dances. What can I do to become more confident?

I'm not an Irish dancer, but when we do the jig in highland dancing it can sometimes be daunting wearing heeled shoes so I have some ideas :) if you're scared of slipping the only thing that can really help is dancing into the floor so you have more of a grip (I don't know if that made sense) and dance harder. And for general confidence practice is the best way to feel better! If you practice lots you'll be confident in your dancing and technique so you'll feel more prepared in general. If it's the shoes causing the problems just wear them lots so you're used to them! Hope this helps :)
