Outside of arches cramping

I am in prelims, and anytime I dance in soft shoe, my foot starts cramping. It's not exactly my arches, the pain is more towards the outside of my foot. The pain is a throbbing, sharp, continuous pain that does not stop until after I take off my soft shoes. I have tried everything from Motrin to lacrosse balls and frozen water bottles, and nothing seems to work. I am very flat footed, if that helps. Thanks!

Are you tying your laces under the foot?

I'm going through the same thing and I don't tie under the arches. The only thing that helps me is an extreeemely throrough warm-up. I'm talking like 30-40 minutes before class, rolling in-between. It's worse in soft shoes than hard shoes, but it also happened when I was doing things like squats, burpees, etc. I wish I knew what it was / how to prevent it entirely! Gonna be watching this thread...

@hummingbird no I don't tie my laces around my arches, even though I used to
