Wow it's been a long time since I've posted on DDN!

Now 23 and expecting my first baby - I've been looking at ways to cut back on costs when it comes to living on one wage!

I've been racking my brains wondering where to post this and wondered about turning to DDN!

So I've been looking up
How to make my own laundry powder.
I've been looking at recipes online but being in the UK I'm not sure we get washing soda/soda crystals and when "bar soap" is mentioned is it the everyday stuff we would
Use for washing our hands?

Has anyone got some tried and tested recipes and know where things are available in the UK?

Thanks

Bar soap is this,

www.huffingtonpost.com . . .

so the answer to your question is yes, you'll be able to get it at Boots or Superdrug with no problem.

I also found this old thread about washing soda

downtoearth.yuku.com . . .

if you can't get it from a supermarket try a Chemists or a DIY store. If you still have a smaller local DIY store near you they'll know what you're talking about and will be able to help you.
