Ballet - GeneralExtreme Flexibility: Recovery Time

I would really like to achieve extreme flexibility like a rhythmic gymnast (e.g. double oversplits, hyper-extension, flexible back). I know what stretches to do and I usually spend maybe 45 minutes to 1 hr stretching twice per week and I would like to up it to every day. However...
After I stretch I am extremely sore the next day (like can't even touch my toes sore) - Should I give my body time to rest for a day or should I just stretch every day regardless?
Does anyone else experience this?
