I am teaching a class of ages 2-3 creative movement and ages 4-5 beginning dance class. I am looking for suggestions/tips on songs, lesson plans, ANYTHING! Classes start soon and these are new classes added to our studio agenda this year.

Keep it simple - they can only follow a few commands at a time.

Keep it repetitive - they like when they know what happens. Two year olds don't get to know much, when they do they really like it. Make sure they know. I go as far as to theme my songs - we'll pretend we're airplanes to "Fly Through The Air" by The Wiggles, for example.

Keep it short. They've only got the attention span to run the dance maybe two times, then they need to go on to something else. Have a variety of activities planned, and have backup plans for your backup plans. My playlist for a 30 minute baby class is 28 minutes long, LOL...
