I just recently qualified for prelim and I'm dancing in the Oireachtas this year. However, I've never done a feis in prelim before, so I signed up for one in a few weeks just so that I could have some prelim experience before dancing in majors. Does anyone have any helpful tips about competing in champs (in the Mid-Atlantic region if that changes anything)?

First of all congratulations for making it to Prelim!
Your TC is the best source of info regarding the factual info (what dances to dance etc).
As for your own mindset: regard this first Prelim feis the same way one should regard a first feis: expect nothing, just enjoy the experience of being on that stage. You'll be dancing alongside dancers who are only one first place away from Open Championships and chances are you will have your ass kicked by them. But that's okay, they once started in Prelim the same way. I would just go out there and dance your best, and mostly just enjoy the privilege of knowing you belong on the Champ stage.
