Prop Idea Needed

I have a group of 1st graders who will be doing a jazz dance to "Hip to Be Square" by Huey Lewis & The News. I'm thinking of inserting a school bell at the front of the song and having them dressed in a school uniform. I'd really love for them to use a prop for part of the dance. It has to be handheld though or not too large. I thought of backpacks but I can't really think of how they'd dance with those.

I'm also open to other ideas along this line. Help me brainstorm? Thanks!

Hello,

What about a notebook or a binder? They are interesting as props for the moves, because they can be opened / closed and browsed.

Hope it helps!

I love the notebook idea...

You could also use rulers, t-squares or other draftsman's templates, a fake i pad ...toy isle in the dollar stores.... old fashioned leather brief cases with handles...the soft sides, not too heavy...they often show up in the thrift shops, or geeky lunch boxes or even pocket protectors!

This sounds like such a cute number.

I think rulers could be a good prop idea as it is easy to handle and can be used innovatively while dancing. I was looking for someone who could help me with my essay work when my friend shared me this link click for info. I found essayontime providing the services I was looking for. I would like to ask if anyone has used their services before.
