What a Wonderful World - Celine Dion
Dreams - Diana Degarmo
Dream in Color - Regina Bell
Over the Rainbow
Goodbye My Friend - Linda Ronstadt
Remember Me This Way - Jordan Hill
I have seen younger groups do all of these and they were beautiful. |

"Will The Sun Ever Shine Again"
Bonnie Raitt, from the Home on the Range soundtrack (If you can believe it!)
It's easy for a child to relate to. I have a seven year old competing it this year, and it's gone very well. |

this year for my youngest team i used "little angel of mine" by No Secrets. It worked well because a few older girls were placed on the team... really cute.
and by the way, I really dont know what everyone's beef with lyrical for younger kids is all about. It's a great way to give kids ballet with a little less structure and a little more feeling. I guess it depends on your approach to how you teach it? maybe they're opposed to competition lyrical? i dont know... |

i say we should all be aware of lyrics for our kids. songs these days can get a bit unappropriate for all the wrong reasons if you really think about it! |

I HIGHLY recommend "The Girl I Mean to Be" from the Secret Garden Soundtrack that tinylildancer suggested. It is so cute and sweet and meaningful and age-appropriate. |
