another great one is "lollipop". this could work for kids as well. i have a great version by ben kweller, who really is a great singer. and "my new philosophy" from you're a good man, charlie brown is a good one.

The whole soundtrack from Happy Feet is good. This year, my class is doing "Boogie Wonderland" from that soundtrack. It sounds like fun...it even has some rapping hidden in that song which'll be interesting to dance to in tap shoes :P

hi, i know a lot of songs that you could tap to, but i've mostly done instrumental, i did notice some songs mentioned that are a total no-no for tapping to. other songs that are good, 42nd street, singing in the rain, lullaby of broadway, play that funky music white boy, hot shoe shuffle, chicago (instrumental one not from the musical) choo choo cha boogie, little brown jug, jazz numbers anything like that...

Depends on they "style" of tap you're going for.

For a Broadway-type tap:
I Got Rhythm- from Crazy For You
Everything's Coming up Roses- from Gypsy
You Can't Stop the Beat- from Hairspray (Broadway recording is a million times better than the movie recording)
Puttin on the Ritz (not necissarily Broadway but same feeling)- lots of different artists
Money- from Cabaret

Other style tap:
Rock This Town- Stray Cats
Let's Go Crazy- Prince
Jumpin east of java- Brian Stetzer Orchestra
Are You gonna be my girl- Jet
The Ballroom Blitz- Sweet
Jump Jive n Wail- Brian Stetzer Orch.
Zoot Suit Riot- Cherry poppin daddies
This is how a heart breaks- Rob Thomas

There's like tons & tons, but it all depends on how the choreographer interprets the music
