I don't have much, but I'll shove in my two cents' worth:

Anything by Michael Bublé is fabulous for really jazzy tapping, like a top hat and tails number. At my dance school, we recently tap-danced to his "Moondance", and that's just fabulous. You can also really experiment with his music - you can do pretty simple tap if you're a beginner, or go super-complex if you're an expert and you really want to show off.

We also tapped to "Rhythm of Life" a while back - that's just fantastic! You have to go all hippy and really make it funky. It's a really fun tap dance.

I just bought an amazing tap cd, called Drumville, 16 tracks of all drums, different rhythms, feelings, etc. There's even a waltz piece on it! It's put out by Signature Series, and I think you can order it from adaptsyllabus.com

Here are a few more to keep you ON YOUR TOES!! Take the ones you like and leave the ones you don't!

My Cheri Amor - Stevie Wonder... just a suggestion, see if you could do anything with it!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper

**For a Funkier more Hip/Hop type of Jazz** Don't Wanna Be a Playa No More - Big Pun, It's got tap in the background and it could be a really awsome dance. You might want to gt the edited version though.

In The Middle of The Night- Billy Joel

It's Still Rock And Roll To Me - Billy Joel

Cell Block Tango - Chicago Movie Soundtrack

Luck Be A Lady Tonight - Frank Sinatra

Looking For Love - Viktar Duplaix (spelling?) Deliever Us From Eva soundtrack

Guys and Dolls - Guys and Dolls Soundtrack (great if you want to add a little bit of non-dance coreography in the beginning)

Gonna Make You Sweat - Keith Sweat

No Shirt No Shoes No Problems - Kenney Chesney (great for little kids)

I'm Really Hot - Missy Elliot

Hope this helped.

just had to say that the "in the middle of the night" song is called river of dreams

Thank you for all of your suggestions!! I will add a few once I compile what I've done over the years. I see a lot of upbeat ones-- this year i'm looking for something a bit different; a slower song (but still with a really good beat). Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'm an advanced tap dancer- I've been tapping for 11 years. Thank you so much! :)

I found a great version of "Five Foot Two" by Tony DaSale. It's a jazzy piano song with no lyrics and plenty of upbeat instrumental breaks (ex: guitar).

It's 2 min. 42 seconds long and pretty easy to cut.

The album's called "Want You."
