a lot of these responses are very classic and somewhat overdone....i really enjoy using songs that have less music behind them, because you're forced to create your own rhythms. for example, i danced to 'better together' by jack johnson recently, which is just the guitar and his voice, so our tap sounds really stood out and we were able to do a lot more with our steps.

when you're not held back by a lot of background noise, the tapping really makes a bigger impact. something to think about :)

The Ghostbusters theme song is a great song for tapping. Also Jam by Michael Jackson and the Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefan.

I have tapped to a lot of awesome songs...

Boogie Man (don't know who sang it)
Sing, Sing, Sing
Datin' With No Dough
This Cat's on a Hot Tin Roof

The classics Luck be a Lady, That's Entertainment and Hurray for Hollywood lol

I myself am partial to swing music and classic rock... I'd love to do pieces to some Cherry Poppin' Daddies, either Zoot Suit Riot (overdone) or You Don't Want Me.

This year I'm using If the House is Rockin' (Stevie Ray Vaughn) for a small group tap, and Mr. Pinstripe Suit (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy) for a teen tap solo.

"Those Shoes" by the Eagles. Just for the title. : )

By the way, the David Leonhardt trio has a series of songs solely for tap. There are are certain songs that have breaks in the songs for acapella rhythms.
