i great song to do a real cool solo tap dance is milt hinton's
song called "babs groove" milt hinton is a great vibes player. i
did a solo at a talent show(came in 2nd) to that song wearing a
sexy black sequined shirt in high heeled silver tap shoes. i'm
still upset to come in 2nd place to a group of pop-break dancers.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on this site and have no idea if I am posting in the right area. I am madly searching for tap music for my six year old son for an eisteddford. I believe it has to be an instrumental and I have no idea where to find something appropriate. His teacher suggested "Razzle Dazzle" from Chicago but said she didn't have it and could I have a look around for it. YIKES! I have no idea where to start. Any thoughts?

"Oye" by Gloria Estefan is good, I'm dancing to it this year. I think it would be better for more experienced students because there are random breaks in the music and the tempo changes often, but its a fun and energetic song.

My daughter is doing her solo to "Bye Bye Blackbird" this year. It starts out slow, then gets fast, then slows down and then gets fast again.

Her groups are doing

Jail House Rock
Swing Tiger Swing

Some other songs to think about are:

Car Wash (Christina Aguliera)
Rockin Robin
Working in a Coalmine (good for younger tappers)
Do you Wanna Dance
Stomp (really fast with a few breaks in between)
Jinga
Maniac
Footloose
Tribal Dance (really really fast)

Sorry I don't know who sings them, but maybe someone else here knows.
