My fave steps in the hornpipe are the lowcutting (i love getting the sway in this step as long as i dont end up on the floor which has happened 3 times lol) and the forward crab. The hornpipe is one of my favourite dances because there are such a good variety of steps that are great fun to do.

I like scissors and shake and rock. I don't know if this is the way that everyone does shake and rock the same way but my teacher has us do it the irish way where one foot is crossed completely over the other and you rock on the the sides of the foot. She always jokes about that step being good for me because I also do Irish dance and I tend to do all my highland with an Irish flare anyway lol.

My favourite step is lowcutting. I find it challenging, and really fun to do! It's also great to watch in the audience.
