Hey yall just making sure you don't make my mistake...
One day I was trying out for the kick company on my drill team and I was practicing with a significantly shorter dancer than me. We decided to start practicing jump splits, well that was a huge mistake. I jumped higher than her and she pulled me down, and I bounced in my splits which isn't a good thing. This was my freshman year in high school, I'm now a Junior and I'm just now starting to recover from it. I've had x-rays done and I'm still never going to be the same. Be careful girls!

yeah just another story about jump splits...it was during a half time performance, and there was a jump split in our dance, and i guess i didnt jump as high as i could of in my split but anways, we were dancing on turf, and my legs came down and my shoe got stuck on the turf and i popped my knee cap out of place, I'm colonel of my dance team, and we are approaching competition season and im out for 8 weeks with no dancing and my knee well never be the same, its now what they call a trick knee and it well happen again if im not carefull...so whoever reads this or the other story...just please be careful when doing jump splits!!! make sure u are doing them right and u know what ur doing before u try them!! Because i do them all the time they are in our officer strut, so i do several a week...and i still got hurt!

Wow! That sound terrible. I live in Utah and drill teams here aren't aloud to do jump splits in competition anymore, for safety reasons. In whatever we do our hands have to touch the floor first before anything else does. I guess there were just too many injuries.
