really great post!!! im going to use this for my second audition in the fall- auditioning isn't all that bad, for everyone out there just do your best and if you don't make it that just means you aren't what the judges were looking for and someday you will find a spot right for you :)

I found this extremely helpful and realistic. though I no longer dance myself, my younger sister will soon be auditioning for a dance academy and though I’ve tried to explain to her what she should expect, I usually just end up re-itterating over and over "make sure your dance bag is packed with everything you would have at a recital, and don't get nervous" I found that there wasn't much I could tell her about the whole process because I seemed to have gotten the butterflies so badly that all the memories of my auditions sort of fogged together whether the audition went well or not.

Thank you! I’ll be sure to get my sister to read this, and to pass it along to her ballet friends as well.

Good article and nicely written. The meditation really helps me in an audition, especially the ABT one. the class was crowded and stuffy, but right before I went in i took some deep breaths. I still dont Know my results tho.

Thanks a bunch, that is a great post. I have already done my auditions, but this would have been great to read before I did them.
