Removed by calypso (11968) on 2006-03-31 14:05:39 you are typing in netspeak. this is not allowed here. you must take the time to spell all words fully. for example, instead of "u", you must type "you" every time. posts that have netspeak will be removed.

you are the bomb! (giving you a standing ovation). this is great for people who don't understand it. plus you mentioned one of my favorites. martha graham. i love her. my college choreographer introduced me to her and i've admired her every since. modern is one of my favorite forms of dance. mostly because i feel so free when i'm doing it.there aren't very many restrictions on it except that YOU MUST FEEL IT! my first modern routine was to this song off of the dead presidents soundtrack. it had no words and the music was mostly just weird sounds (bells tolling, wolves howling, wind blowing, etc.). we painted our faces like the guys in the movie and did our thing. it was one of my fav's out of my 4 years in high school. then my dance company in college did a routine called girl talk. the whole dance was just girls coming on the stage 2 at a time dancing to their short convo's. it was all the things that we as women talk about among ourselves. it was genius. anywho...thanks for the thread!

yes and no. For the most part, you can use the two terms interchangeably, but there is a subtle difference.
