Are you an expert ballet, modern, jazz, or hip hop instructor? Or expert cheer, pom, gymnastics coach? Have you operated a successful studio all your life? Do you know the ins and outs of your dance or performing arts profession? dance.net needs you! Here's how you can help dancers and promote yourself at the same time...

Each expert will host his/her own "column" in a particular dance category, and only needs to answer one question in detail each week. These questions will be submitted to you by our readers, or you can get inspiration from the forum topics themselves.

As an expert, your column will be listed in the appropriate forum category and you as the designated expert. More than one expert is permissible in a given category, and you'll each have a different column.

What do you get out of this? First, you'll have the undying gratitude of dancers everywhere who will flock to your weekly column to read your pearls of wisdom. If that wasn't enough, you get to select the foreground color of your nick name. Not only that, but your bio will be listed in the staff pages under the Experts heading, and your company or organization will have plenty of exposure. This volunteer position is something you could list on your resume as well. Who can deny the appeal of being an expert on dance.net? :D

Here are the requirements:

Each expert must have a degree or qualifying experience

You must be willing to answer one question in detail each week.

Writing experience is ideal though I can help edit your column.

If you think you have what it takes, send a writing sample and brief resume outlining your experience to editor@dance.net. Please include the category (ie., ballet, pointe, modern) that you're an expert in.

Thanks,
Linh

I would be more than happy to help out in the field of modern dance. Although I teach: ballet, composition, dance history and creative work, my special love is modern.

I have a degree in dance and years of professional performing, choreographing, company directing and teaching.

Among others, I danced for the late, great Jose Limon and established, Contemporary Dance Theater. Need to know more about me? I'll be happy to supply my CV, if you'd like.

In Peace,

TW

I am the director of Manhattan Motion Dance Studios in New York City, and I have been teaching Lyrical Jazz as well as fun things like Disco aerobics and Modern Dance to adults for almost 20 years. Please visit my website: manhattanmotion.com and let me know if I qualify to write a weekly spot on Jazz at dance.net.
