I just received this letter:

Dear Sir or Madam,



I am writing to congratulate you on your dance website, not as a dancer — those days belong in my childhood, but as a parent.



I am the foster mother of a young Polish boy who, for various reasons, has come to live in Britain. He has danced ballet since a very early age and I have managed to find him a reasonably local school that is able to manage his
abilities. He has only been in this “strange” country for a few weeks and is struggling with the complete change of culture, friends and language.



He has taken to the internet like a duck takes to water, but is trying to cope with a very basic command of the English language. He showed me the dozens of "ballet clubs" that he had joined on the yahoo groups, with no real understanding of the written contents. I was horrified! With maybe three exceptions, none of the so-called ballet sites were suitable for a naive young boy.



Then he showed me your site.



It was such a real pleasure to see such a well regulated site, with proper moderation of posting. He was greeted so nicely by some people and, most of all, offers of help were made. He was overjoyed and he showed me many of the posts that he has managed to make – some of them are a little off the mark mainly because he didn’t understand the original question, but I am so pleased that he has found a safe home on the net so quickly.



I think too many people take the internet far too much for granted, and little recognition is given to the hours of hard work and effort that a site such as yours must involve. I would be very grateful if you would pass on my thanks to everyone concerned.

That is a really great boost and it does say what a great site that dance net is.

Wow, I'm so happy that dance.net is not only something fun for us to do, but it can provide something like it is for this young boy! I hope, whoever he is, that I am helping make him feel at home too.
