Sorry, but no, that's incorrect. it was NOT an Olympic sport till 1996. how could it have been if the individual competition wasn't made an Olympic sport until 1984.. the first person to win an Olympic medal in the sport was Lori Fung (CAN). it was only until the 1960's that it was recognized by FIG. there were competitions held, like the one in Hungary, but it was not an Olympic competition. it was a WORLD championships.
