I started ballet when I was 14, so when I started Irish 2 years later I had already experienced started dance at a "later" age. My dance class has a lot of little girls in it, but others my age to. You can always start later! My aunt started dancing when she was in her 30's.

I'm giving my first Irish class a go tomorrow night! I'm really excited - have been lost in Irish dance videos on YouTube for the last few hours!

It's technically an Irish dance fitness class, but I'm hoping just to give things a go and see how it all pans out!

@Billy
Good for you! Have a great time. It is so much fun and wonderful exercise. I'm sure you will love it and get addicted like the rest of us.

Shadow Luna Cat: Good for you, go for it! I'm 68 and you still can't keep me off the dancefloor! Classes are an excellent way to keep fit, plus you will meet new people and make new friends. I was recently at a St Patrick's Day Dinner invited by the St Patrick's Society here in Algarve, Portugal, we had the best time ever and there was an Irish Dance Demonstration. Sadly we had to leave before 2am, but I'm told they were dancing until dawn! Have a great time.
