Anyone know a good song to twirl to wearing a black cat outfit for a show twirl? My daughter is 8 yrs. old and we need a song that's appropriate for her to dance to! Any help is appreciated!

I've picked up my daughter the cutest little cat outfit... anyone have ideas for a song to go along with the cat theme? She's 8 and has been twirling for 3 years.
Thanks!

Another girl on the team is wanting to use the song tootsie roll by 69 boyz for a solo routine. It looks cute, but some other people said that they thought the song was inappropriate. Does anyone know why, I thought it was referring to a dance.

For marching band last year we did an earth wind and fire show those songs were ok to twirl to because they were upbeat
-In the stone
-After the love is gone
-Getaway
-September
-Sing a song
This year we're doing a Shrek themed show
-Accidently In Love
-All Star
-Funkytown
-I'm a believer

For winter season we did a Rascal Flatts song
-Oklahoma Texas Line/Breakaway

And for this summer season were doing
-I think we're alone now (drumline)

But some songs I've used
-Diamonds are a girls best friend-Moulin Rouge
-Poison- Alice Cooper
-Nice Guys Finish Last- Green Day
-Hard Knock Life- Annie
-C'est la vie- Bewitched
-Assorted songs from the musical Wicked
-Sandstorm-Dadrude

Right now I'm twirling a show routine to Streets of Gold from Olvier and Company. It's a really nice song and the horn solo in the middle leaves for a lot of attitude. ;)

Lets see, here's a few others:
I'm Blue- Eiffel 65
Independence Day- Martina McBride
I'm a Believer- the Shriek Version
Roxie- from Chicago
Loveshack- ??
Wild One- ??
Danger Zone- Top Gun
We Got the Beat- ?? (Our schools theame song!)
I'll Think of a Reason Later- Lee Ann Womack

If I think of any more I'll come back! Happy Twirling All!!

I am looking for the title of an 80's song. Every time I am around a group of twirlers and it comes on, they all say "oh, this is a great song to twirl to!" but no one can tell me the title of it. The first line of the song says something about "I want to know your name". I know, it's not an overly detailed description, but does anyone have an guesses as to what its called?

There's a few songs that are coming up when I tried to search for it. I went to google.com and in the search box I typed lyrics and "I want to know your name" right after it (using the quotation marks). You may want to try that to see if any of the other lyrics ring a bell.

Good luck! :)

Most of you have listed really new music, we rarely ever use just released pieces as the are too repeatative and dont make for a great programme, however resently i have used newer pieces but have had 2 be really careful with the choices i have made.
In the past i have used
(Cant remember my first ever freestyle aged 10)
Annie(when i woz 11)
Cabaret(12)
Money make the world go round-Cabaret(13)
A Jane McDonald song cant remember what its called (14)
Christina Aguilera Beautiful(15)-my fave freestyle!!!
Katie Melua Closest thing to crazy (16)
Mein Herr-Cabaret(17/18-this years freestyle)

For teams we have used
Bat out of Hell
Robbie Wiliams -Eternity
Heaven(instrumental version of the Bryan Adams 1)
Cant remember n e more!

ok this is kinda off topic, but i want to try out for majorette next school year. I just learned the basics(very fast learner)but I don't know what kind of song I should try. The other thing is I'm learning on my own along with help from my mom, but she hasn't really done any routines. Any suggestions??
