One other song I've used that would work for a jungle them is "Oh Yeah" by Yello. (I've you've seen the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, this is the song that plays at the end of the movie and over the credits.) |

"Popcorn" has a lot of energy with a repetitive beat.
There's also a variety of instrumental stuff from Pirates of the Carribean. I've noticed more soundtracks coming out with just instrumentals from the movies. Those are always fun too! |

the song "rock in america" by I think kansas(mid 80's)
lots of songs by poison but you need to watch the lyirics.
TnT Dynomite is also a good one but I would think you would need to be an advanced twirler to pull it off. |

The theme from Pirates of The Carribean is a really good one. Two girls at my studio did a duet to it and dressed up as pirates and had those swords that link together. Another good one that someone did at my studio is "Soul man" from Blues Brothers. They dressed up in those suit jackets and hats with sunglasses, it looked really cool. |

Rent has some great songs! I did an exhibition at my high school using a mix of the songs...everyone loved it!
Also I take any songs that I like now that are slow and I speed them up with my music editor! It works great for speeding things up!

The Hannah Montana and High School Musical soundtrack are great! Although, there is a chance they will be overused this year!

Some instrumentals that I can think of:
Yanni
Cirque Du Soleil
Michael Nyman
Philip Glass
Karl Jenkins
Adeimus
Vanessa Mae
Bond
Apocalyptica
Most movie soundtracks have plenty of instrumental tracks
Hope this helps. I have used several pieces from a few on this list, always seemed to work well. |

We have had alot of twirling songs at our school, but my favorite has to be "Welcome To The Jungle", my friend did a solo to it. At first i thought it would be crazy, but it was actually really good. |

Well, I admit I don't have much experience of twirling, but I probably have a slightly more esoteric CD collection than most so I thought I might suggest something that someone else might not have thought of.
-"Set Fire To The Face On Fire" by The Blood Brothers on their album Young Machetes. Very punk-rock.
-"Nice and Sleazy" (cover) by Sons and Daughters. I think that this is the sexiest song ever written. It's mighty hard to get hold of because it was only ever released on the 7" of their "Taste The Last Girl" single. It's also very rock.
-"Hysteria" by Muse.
-"Black Horse and A Cherry Tree" by KT Turnstall
-"Let Go" by Frou Frou (OST Garden State)
-"Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand. Lots of changes in the song, would make it interesting. |

Old school twirler here....but I see a bunch of songs that we used back in my day listed here.
I had an instructor that had had a way of selecting songs and chorographing that made our team seem to stand at competitions. Some of my favorites were
William Tell Overture (lone ranger)...very fast song which we had a skill packed routine too.
Music Box Dancer....routine that required lot of poise and ballet techniques
Thank God I'm a Country Boy...knee slapping fun...again fast with lots of fundamental at high speed
our small kids class always had a blast twirling to Splish Splash I was taking a Bath. |
