I've been thinking about using a song from the princess diaries movie but I found it almost impossible to find the right one. I wanted the one from the party, when Mia's grandmother starts singing...does anyone know the title? Please?

I think Gloria Estefan recorded a version of "Turn the Beat Around" that works. Back in the day...my group did a rock mix with "Suffergette City"(Ziggy Stardust LP) by David Bowie.
Patriotic music is good to mix-Agulera's "Candy Man" and Bette Midler's "Bugle Boy"...maybe even "Born in the USA" by Springsteen...lots of possibilities. Sorry I went on a tangent...

I thought that song was cute too, and I have seen it used in some team song mixes. However, my teens have advised me that it could be inappropriate (the term they used is "eeww")

Candyman is a cute song. I twirled to it in my school's talent show b/c it was really popular at the time. Although at competitions it could get you in trouble with the whole Cherry popping and panties dropping.... :-/

tWIRled1- if your friend is still looking, try Horse and I by Bat For Lashes. I love that song- very dark and mysterious. I would use it for freestyle, but I don't think my organization (NBTA) would like it.

The best songs by far that i've found to twirl to, if you're after a good medium to fast beat is anything on the Clandestino album by Manu Chao. He's an awsome ragae-ish artist and i first twirled to him in Thailand. Also on the new matchbox 20 album (Exile on Mainstream) there's How Far We've Come and I'll Believe You When. I actually just got inside from twirling to them . Oh oh oh oh and also Destination Calabria, not only is the video clip incredible, but there's some good pauses and beats in there for throw based free styles!

I'm looking for the same kind of song. Right now I'm considering DC Talk's Jesus Freak, Mary Mary's Shackles, and Steven Curtis Chapman's Great Adventure.

Shackles is winning out right now, but that might change.

King by Tree 63 works well too.

Is there a remix for Shackles? That might be Great!
