I was at a lesson a couple of nights ago. I realized that I was doing the intro comletely wrong,or standing wrong or something. I guess my teacher didn't notice. Where is your supportin foot supposed to be in relation to the one that the heel comes down with. Also is the foot that does come down is it supposed to be on the ball of the foot?

Your working foot in the hornpipe introduction should be placed so that when it comes down it is in either 3rd/5th or 4th intermediate. Your supporting foot, which is flat, would then be in 3rd rear/5th rear or 4th intermediate rear accordingly. The supporting foot is on the ball. Does that help?
