This is a sticky to replace the previous one...
List your school, your location, types of dance you offer (tap, jazz, etc.), programs you offer (competitive/performance based, recreational) the ages of students you accept, and any other information you think is important...
And, I'll say it right now:
THE FIRST PERSON TO SPEAK ILL OF ANOTHER SCHOOL ON THIS THREAD WILL HAVE THEIR COMMENTS REMOVED, AND THEIR ACCOUNT WILL FACE ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION - UP TO AND INCLUDING THE BANNING OF YOUR ACCOUNT.

I go to the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and it is located near the city, next to southbank and the Victorian Arts Center. It is for students who study academic years 7 to 12 and entry is by audition only. They offer ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, ethnic, acrobatics, kinetics, anatomy, ballet composition, contemporary composition, VCE Dance, VET Dance and pilates. You learn your academic classes on the same campus and spend half the day study each field, academic and/or dance. There is no competitions available to the students externally (other than The Ballet Teachers Workshop) however, internally students can compete for an exchange program to The Dance School Of Scotland. They perform two workshops, a major season and a minor season (which the students choreograph) annually. Also the students of The Australian Ballet School, the Victorian Institute of Gymnastics and Tennis Australia all attend the academic program that the school provides.
Anyone who is remotely considering dance as a career should audition for VCASS . | re: Melbourne Dance Schools en>fr fr>en By Jenerator Comments: 275, member since Fri Jun 04, 2004On Fri Jun 08, 2007 01:59 PM
Two schools to recommend.
1. M3 Dancehouse in Caulfield and Elsternwick. ATOD syllabus for ballet, tap and jazz, also offers hiphop and I think maybe singing. Enters comps at Mordialloc, Southern Dance and this weekend is the ATOD scholarships. Ages from 3-18ish I think. Run by 3 lovely girls. m3dancehouse.com
2. for adults young and old, male and female, Pilates Plus in Moorabbin (near Moorabbin Station) - casual ballet and jazz classes, plus (of course) pilates. Working towards a concert in September currently. Classes available during the day and evenings, ok to bring little kids with you (no care offered, but they will mix with the owner/teacher's children in full view in the kitchenette). | re: Melbourne Dance Schools en>fr fr>en By Austapper Comments: 2118, member since Mon Aug 25, 2003On Mon Jun 11, 2007 01:56 AM
I teach for Stonnington School of Dance.
We have studios in Malvern East and now also Murrumbeena. Classes from pre-school all the way through to adult in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and now also song & dance.
We teach the ATOD syllabus and participate in various competitions in addition to our end of year concert.
We maintain a high standard of teaching and have an awesome sense of team spirit!!!
