Hi hannys mom, you're better to start with either a swimsuit or leotard pattern and just adapt it from that. I would suggest using the cheaper lycra rather than the expensive metalic or printed lycra to start with just incase it doesnt work out first time.

Hi, could any-one of you helpful people out there give me some idea of how to make the big net tutus that are being worn at the moment- please- pretty please?
I have what seems like hundreds of metres of net but dont know where to start. What do you attach the net to, please help !

Hi Kim. I gather mine like you would a fan, then machine it together. Then sew it to the costume. Not sure if there's an easier way but thats how i do it and it works for me.

You can always buy nice fabric & cut flowers from that eg a floral fabric that has large flowers. It could work out cheaper for you.

I make costumes . Buy a basic pattern and some pattern paper which costs about 50p a meter .Trace around the pattern onto the pattern paper. You can then alter your home made pattern to your own design without ruining the original paper pattern and use it over and over again .

Hello,
I have just started making freestyle costumes. I competed for aroud 10 years so am looking forward to hopefully being involved in another side of it all now.
