Locked by MirrorImageTwirl (79592) on 2005-01-09 19:34:14 Cancelled! Not enough interest.

You have until the end of January 5 to post your chorography(sp?) for your solo or duet. Also post what you are wearing, and the song it is to. And maybe even how you are going to do your hair. Get really detailed about it!

I am still trying to think of something to do for the opening act. The show corp thing I wanted to do did not work out, so if you have any ideas, let me know!

Thanks!

I'm doing a sword dance, which uses set steps (from the book). Do you still need me to post something? Sorry, I never check out this section of VIS - I missed this entirely.

Yes. I need to know that you have your routine, so when it is the night to perform, you can copy this, and paste it on to the performance.

I'm wearing my Freestyle Solo costume, here is the link to a picture: www.dance.net . . .
My hair will be done the same as it is in the photo.
My routine is to the Kuta Remix of Be Faithful by Fatman Scoop.

Pose to begin (Up on toes, shoulders back)
4 Drag Runs into a prep and 4 fast Spins
4 Drag Runs
Prepare, Box Split Jump, squat, Box Splits
Swing legs round straight in front, Pelvic Lift (4 counts)
Pose, leaning into 4 Drag Runs
Attitude Jump, spin out of it
4 Drag Runs
Step, Ball Change, Step, High Kick with right leg
Cross right leg over left, unwind a full turn, pose pointing at judge/audience.
4 drag runs
Right leg hold
Left Backcatch

That will do because it requires a lot of energy and I will probably be knackered! Lol :D

Ok ok, so I missed the deadline I know, I'm sorry Abby! I was banned from the computer for a while, but mom finally gave up and I'm back now.

I posted a pic of my costume in the costume contest forum but I can post it again if you like. My hair is going to be down and straightened, and it has purple pieces put in it (my hair is almost black now, so the purple looks cool) and my make up is all really really dark. Normally for lyrical we have to wear the lyrical shoes but I'm doing my routine barefoot, I find it more comfortable that way.

The song is I'd Hear Heaven by Hedley. It's not a well known song, so I can post lyrics or something if need be. The choreography goes more with the words than counts, but I'll try my best to post it here.

I start off centre stage, in swastika leaning over my legs. The music starts and I hold for 4, then roll up to my knees slowly. Full layout back for 4, then up 5678. I roll to standing, run to the back of the stage and raise my arms up over my head just before the words start. I set and do a double and a half pirouette, so I'm facing the front. The words I land on is close, so on that word, I bring my arms in front of my face and plie. Then straighten, and bring my hands across my face, plié, chaine to the front, plie, axel with the right leg. I slide down into middle splits, as I go down, my arms go up. Swim thru, hit the ground with my fists, look up at audience. Roll onto back, kick left leg up and grab it. When it comes down, I come up to sitting. I turn to look at the audience and reach towards them. Then I plant my hands on the ground, do a right attitude over, and when I land, I let the momentum bring me to a standing position. Once I stand, the music gets really heavy, and really loud. Everything I do now falls on a really heavy beat. Throw left, attitude turn right. Chassé right, switch leap. After landing that, I throw left, throw right, then do a body roll with my head in my hands. Turning to face stage left, I plié deep and pop up my heels while reaching. Then I knee hinge down to the ground. Then, on the words "never thought I'd hear Heaven say" I reach up to the ceiling slowly. Roll to standing, passé left with my arms pushing out on either side. Chaine left, turning C jump, run to front of stage, reach for the ceiling on releve (the words are never thought I'd hear Heaven say, Heaven say) Then it slows down a bit again. I run to centre (the words are run away). Set, single pirouette, then fouettes, ending in an attitude. Right tilt. A lot of reaches since this part is super slow. Then it gets really heavy again, and I repeat the part starting with throw left, turn right.. up to the reach on releve. Then there's 14 seconds of the music winding down, where I just kind of ad lib I guess you could say, and then it goes ooooh never thought I'd hear Heaven.. and it ends. On that I reach up, and go into a full back layout and hold until the lights go off when I exit the stage.

There's the choreography. Sorry if it's hard to understand, it's really hard to explain when it's over the internet. And again, sorry for being late, hope it still can be in the show!
