Hi, I just want to say that LoriLynn is correct. "Go Ask Alice" is fiction. There's a good story about it at snopes. And guess what? The same author created "It Happened to Nancy" and "Annie's Baby". All of 'em fiction!

Here's the link to the complete story:

Someone already said the Gossip Girl Series and if you like books like those The A-List series is really good also. I like The Notebook too, but I think the movie is better. That's all I've got for now!

I must admit I didn't read all of the posts, so if I majorly repeat some books, consider it a "Me too!" or "Me three!"

-anything by Sarah Dessen
-Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
-The Lovely Bones (I can't believe only one other person mentioned this! This book is simply amazing!)
-anything by nocholas Sparks
-Bloomability by Sharon Creech (It's a super easy read, but good)
-anything by Sophie Kinsella or similar books
-What My Mother Doesn't Know by Sonya Sones (This book is awesome. Quick read written in free verse. Totally, totally realisitc. And by that I mean she could be writing the diary of any number of teenage girls. There's no big drama like a pregnancy or off on a luxury ship, etc.)
-Ender's Game (Yes, this is a "sci-fi" book. And I hate sci-fi. It's sci-fi for people who ahte it. It just simply takes palce in the future. There's not a lot of sci-fi, it's more about like what happens to Ender socially and psychologically)

I haven't read the Alice series, but all of my friends have, so I think I'll give them a try once i get back to school, and can check them out from the school library. I love Lurlene McDaniel books!! Especially the angels trilogy. I also love Sarah Dessen's books! She lives in the same town as me, and signs every copy of her books the local libraries buy!!

I know some of you already mentioned the books What My Mother Doesn't Know and Stop Pretending: What Happened When my Big Sister Went Crazy by Sonya Sones, but I'll mention them again, because I loved both of them, as well as One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies also by Sonya Sones. They are all novels written in poems, and they are so sweet, and honest and true. I love them. And on the theme of novels in poems, Girl Coming in for a Landing by April Halprin Wayland is also a teriffic book.

I loved the diary of Anner Frank. I think that the Dear America Diaries are pretty cool, but they aren't advanced reading.

i've always loved sarah dessen books because they're so easy to read and understand but still have a good plot. i think judy blume books are good too but sometimes the ideas presented in the book seem so outdated. and of course, the traveling pants series are the best. i think they get better as each book goes on. the movie wasn't too good though, in my opinion.

I just want to pointe out that although Beatrice Sparks has made up many fictional 'diaries' (including Go Ask Alice,Jay,It Happened to Nancy...) based on 'real' people - They are still very valuble books!

I just finished Admissions by Judith Liberman, which is about a crazed mom's search for the 'right' high school in New York City for her eighth grader. It's an amusing read, and I enjoyed it immesensly.
