Lots of good tips and advice although my daughters problem is not flexibility of the back it is just catching them! Anyone good good advice on how to actually catch?

It took me around a year to get mine, because although I was kicking high enough, i just couldn't catch it. But then, my dance teacher told me, that im not putting my arms correctly, and to try catching with both hands instead of one. So really throw your leg and try and catch with both hands. but of course stretch your back out first!! :D hope this helps :)

Hiyaa, I think if your aiming to get a straight backcatch only try to if you have a flexibe back and its capiable to do so. I did not have a flexible back and pushed myself alot I got a straight backcatch but also got a bad back i know go to a back man which costs my mum 38 pound a session it is getting better and I hope I can get back to dancing without any pain at all. I strongly advise not to push yourself if you are not capaible or getting lower back pain, abbie xx

well, i learnt to catch my back catch by going back into a crab and walking my hands into my head. i also learnt by resting my hans against a wall and flicking my leg back to hit my head. after a while with weigts on it really helps an you have to practice arms too. to make it easier try to catch it from the side.
