skinniness doesn't usually bother me that much since i usually prefer a thinner body to a more muscular one but jebus like...this really doesnt look healthy! she honestly just looks like skin and bones and its a little scary...i mean i understand that some people are naturally skinny but just...i dont know... 15 Replies to ok honestly...i have a high tolerance but this is TOO much! |

really I'm 161 cm I weigh xxx but if I do that move be sure that my ribs will pop out the exact same way. It doesn't say anything, anything at all!, about how skinny or not she is.
I don't know but I've never seen muscles over my ribs actually so you'll always see them. |

actually, the only muscles that ribs have are between (they are 3 in every space) them, so is perfectly obvious that they came out that way, you have to be really fat so it doesn`t happen.... (i`m studying kinesiology, so i`m really aware of anatomy) |

yeah, that's the only place for your ribs to go is out. whether your skinny or not, your ribs will still do the same thing. if you don't like the way it looks, don't look at the pic. |

shes also twisting to the side a little so she may look thinner then she really may be. But I am not little and if I tired that and sometimes even when I do a little backbend my ribs show a little, you dont really put muscle over them like you would your arms or legs, so thats also why to some people it looks gors, but shes normal, probably 75% of the populations ribs pop out a litle if they tired something like that. Plus she works all day like everyday so shes going to be thinner then your average person. But in all honesty, Irina is very pretty, ribs showing or not |

I'm xxxpounds and 5'3 (not very skinny) and my ribs stick out in backsplits too. True, Irina is skinny but she is at such a high level and probably trains a lot it would be hard for her not to be thin. I did a post on this before, and there was so much controversy about it. In my opinion, Irina is gorgeous and talented no matter how skinny she is. I'm sick of people ragging on athletes for being thin, you wouldn't rag on an overweight person, would you? I dont want to start a big argument like the one on my other post. This is just my opinion.

Just to let you know that I'm not the one who edited my weight to xxx :rolling my eyes: Apparentely you're not allowed to post your own weight for some strange reason?? Luckily I'm mentally stable else I could've start thinking that perhaps I was too fat to post it... (sorry but that was my first thought about it) |

GymLover - It's not that the poster doesn't have a problem with posting that information (and often it helps to make a point) - it's just it can make others more concious of their bodies and weights. Just with weight pressures of dance and gymnastics that people already have - I guess it's just easier if there aren't any height/weight posts. (And we all know posts like these can be quite controversial as it is)
(oh and sorry for putting 'just' too many times in one post! .. it's late at night) |

it's not that i find the picture unnattractive at all, on the contrary i find it just as beautiful as any other rg picture, and i understand that ribs don't really have much to cover them but its just that it looks like she has no "padding" to protect her bones at all and thats why i was a little iffy on it. she looks so delicate like a little child...i dunno. bleh. |

Considering she trains about 10 hours a day...being thin is no shock |

that rule has been in place here at ddn for a long time. height/weight posts can be very triggering for people with eating disorders, and eating disorders and weight issues are a problem that dancers may have to deal with on a daily basis. since ddn is about nuturing our community, the mods have elected to try to help protect our members from any potentially triggering or harmful posts. glad for you to be in a place where it doesn't bother you, but not everyone is so lucky. |
