though that's not so surprising - young gymnasts (especially russians) ar always great

haha its kind of depressing...but they are beautiful.

i used to be able to put my foot under my chin.. i can't do it anymore.. i stiffed up from not practicing anymore.

Perhaps if you just focus a bit on practising that move that you would have it back in no time

I can now not stretch for months do one oversplit and be flat in five minutes just cause I was once able to do it so it comes back easily.

im not really sure about this as im an Artistic Gymnast but they have probably been training from a young age and aren't really bieng 'forced' into it, remeber... A ... most girls in Russia can probably do that and B... most gymnasts are put with other girls of the same ability so they are probably neturally flexible.

I didn't say I agreed with port de bras, the comment just made me think. But the questions I asked were:

In Russia children usually start gymnastics in kindergarten so that's about 3-5 years old. Children are more flexible so probably it takes them less time to get this flexible than if you would start stretching at age 18. It's also better to start younger.

But since all children are individuals one will take more time than the other to learn it.

Of course now there is more attention for flexible gymnast so the girls will spend more time stretching as well, logical.

If she's in kazakova's training center I doubt it. it would be more likely to see Maria Pavlova in 12 years (she's really adorable!), I guess she already is under Viner or any other of the coaches at her center.
