Made sticky by imadanseur (79325) on 2005-01-29 01:20:41

Some time ago, this issue came up and it was decided that karma would be disallowed for photos, as it was being badly abused. That goes for all boards.

We are working on a system that does not involve karma to reward or point out pictures that you enjoy. Until that time, however, karma is not the way, and will be removed from those posts.

Ok good I agree. Its not fair that the pretty people get karma for being pretty, and the ugly people like me would get negative karma if we still had it! Just Kidding ;)

Did Dance.net really have "bad" Karma???

Um, karma is given by hitting the little "Rate up" button at the bottom of the post. If you get 5 karma or more, you get a lil moon icon and the icon changes as you get more karma. The more karma you have, the more you can give. I'm not sure, but I think you must post at least 50 posts before you can give karma! Hopefully that answered your question Dancer4ever!

I still think if someone finds a great photo (not of themselves) they deserve karma.

Yes...well, when you have your own website everyone can make their own rules. Since this is Linh's website, let's follow his. It doesn't take much time to scan a picture does it?

The website would be very boring without comments which is more helpful and entertaining to most people and why the website was started. That is why karma was established to encourage people to be inspiring and helpful with their comments.
