Fairy_dust, I think you´re not allowed to have an avatar like that. If I understand those rules correct:

You wouldn't like it if someone posted a racist, or anti-gay, or anti-lesbian, or anti-religion avatar that was directed at you, so don't use an inflammatory avatar just to stick it to "the other side." That's just plain hurtful and not allowed.

then we´re not allowed to have anything that comes to that. No matter if it´s pro or anti.

Personally I wouldn´t have a problem if you have a religious avatar even though I´m not religious, but I´m not the one who makes the rules here (why not? We should change that. ;))

What if I don't want to be loved by Jesus? Your avatar would imply that Jesus is stalking me!
Plus, there are ordinary guys who are called Jesus, too. How do they even know of me? Scary...

If you have to question whether it's appropriate or not, that's probably a good indication that it isn't.

Oddly, I have a similar rule with my boyfriend "If you have to ask if you can eat it, you can't."

Who would have figured that a 30 year old man would need such a rule?!

Heh...T

^Hahaha.

I'm bitter now. I think my avatar of my boyfriend has been removed and can't figure out why. It was entirely G-rated, just a professional photo used on our choir's website and in our programs of him sitting in a chair. Why, Linh, why??

Thankfully Acrylic, your Avatar works (so now I can continue to perve).

I think the image server was playing up today so it might explain a few mystery photo missingnesses.

Acrylic, one of the photo servers has been down, off and on, for much of the last week. I can see your avatar just fine.

Would it be appropriate to post a pic of the cute little doggie I saw yesterday? :D Hehehe...

If we are afraid of all avatars that could be deemed offensive, why not just get rid of them?

Seriously, I don't think people should be making such a big stink about certain things on this website. I can turn on CBS or NBC and see something that could be deemed more inappropriate than Ms. Monroe in a bathing suit. After all, she is a cultural icon and if I'm not mistaken, someone on this site has a picture of Jenna Jameson on her avatar and that chick is a famous pornstar. Wouldn't that be inappropriate?

There is also some chick with an avatar of some girl flipping up her skirt and it wasn't removed.

I'm finding this to be borderline crazy. Just my opinion, but someone could find my avatar to be offensive. Theres a blonde chick, and two men. She could be a prostitute. Her head isn't covered, she's wearing revealing clothing. See what I mean?

So I am just waiting for someone in hint that I'm easy and my avatar to be removed. God help us all if this site comes to that.

I am just waiting for the day when you will tell us all the truth about yourself and that you are secretly a hooker. Try as you might, crazy Russian, you can't hide from the all-seeing tomato eyes!
I know a dirty joke that would fit in here, but I won't tell. Heh. Family site...

Oh my god! at times i wonder if this whole site is a debate board?! Why does everything have to be picked apart and why do people have to act so childish...ie, If im not allowed this, then why are you allowed that?! Well i dont know...ASK A MOD! Stop picking apart peoples signatures and avators just because it offends you and because you didnt get what you wanted!

I agree with LovelyLaura.
If some people can enforce the rules and pick fault with others, when its done back to them, should'nt they except that the slightest thing can be seen/read differently!?
I'd change it to stop the childishness!

Can someone define "family oriented" for me? Cause I know I dont gather around dance.net with my mom, dad, grandma, and brothers. And I thought this site was only for people 13+? Now I know that isn't the case, but if a parent gives their not-of-age son or daughter permission to be on a site with people of different ages, some being more sexually aware and more mature than others, shouldn't they be willing to deal with the fact that their child might be viewing somethings not shown on ABCFamily or Daytime Noggin?

"He's trying to make the point that even perfectly innocent things can get twisted if you look at them in a certain way. Like some avatars, like her signature."

this was said on the first page and i just want to say that its a bit stupid because thats like saying you can twist evrything into something dirty (which you can now because evrything sounds dirty) so almost evrything that evryone says can sound strange and it will so if you said all this sbout evrything that sounded alittle dirty or rude, there would be no avatars or signatures at all xx

wow!!! ok i agree that sometimes avatars can be inappropriate like if someone is completely nude duh!! any swear words duh again. i agree there are children on this site. but what is this about marylin monroe in a bathing suit picture taken off thats ridiculus!!! and grams whoever if your soooo tight up about these avatars then you do need to take into consideration what we americans think about your signature cuz believe it or not kids do know what xxx means(porno!!) so if we are all going to freak out about peoples avatars then i will make sure to freak out about your signature because to not remove it would be extremely stubborn and ignorant!! thanks.

Tomato, I love your avtar, and I find it in absolutely no way offensive. I find it hilarious. Anyway, back to the point..all of these other avatars are being removed, and tomato's avatar lists everything anyone could get offended over, yet it is okay.
Yet, I also see how it doesn't really suggest anything.
Or, I can't think of the words right now. But it will come to me soon enough..

I think I agree with Balerena (if they're saying what I think they are). Why is tomatoewench's avatar ok, if all those others aren't. It seems like there needs to be a definite set of guidelines as to what is appropriate in avatars and signatures.
